hello everyone we are back at it again with another great episode of the AI agents podcast in this one we're going to talk about voice agents we're going to talk about voice agents which is a hilarious uh double speak sort of thing and we also are excited that this is the first episode where we've already released jot form AI agents and we can talk about it and reference it in a way that isn't like oh it's coming in the future no it's already come we've already had a launch and uh with more on the launch we have idin here who's going to chat with us about how the launch went how are you doing man oh hi how are you doing dri yeah um so we just launched J from a agents yesterday I'm kind of feeling tired from that all that excitement uh you
know I didn't do much like you know I gave a speech and that was good like you know uh we we made a live event uh I made a speech and we had like you know 4,000 people watching it uh watching the speech over different platforms and that excitement like just you know for some reason that excitement actually uh makes you feel tired uh I guess it's the adrenaline or something uh but uh things are actually looking great um so like the launch day uh we had over two 200,000 people visited the just from AI agents page and then we had like 10,000 people actually created their first AI agents uh and like uh and there there were like 3,000 conversations uh on those a agents right on the first day so people were actually curious they were uh poking trying you know creating their
first AI agents and seeing how it works and uh so it was uh pure excitement and um um great stuff because we have been working on this for like over a year and um it's time to uh celebrate and you know um but you know uh this is also day one like you know uh we released the product now like you know we are going to get more and more people to use the product and then we will get feedback and improve it right um so absolutely and and I feel like you know one of the one of the uh channels we have like J from a have like many channels like you know you can put a chatot on your website uh you can use it over like you know WhatsApp or messenger um or you you can use voice agents and today we
are going to talk about voice agents uh voice AI agents uh how would you use them why would you use them and you know and what's the big potential there like you know um and if you think about it it's there's a huge potential for uh for like small businesses with voice agents because it's you know um if you're a small business like you're already busy with like hundreds of different things if you're a startup small business uh if you are like an organization Healthcare nonprofit or educational organization right you you are so busy already like you don't have time to pick up the phone and constantly answer all these incoming questions that you what if you could have this 247 never getting tired you know excited this uh friendly voice a that could actually pick up the phone for you and that's the idea
yeah absolutely they they have they have a lot more in the tank um you know obviously idin is out here working after all of what he did yesterday and there's a lot of people who have that going on in their daily lives when they're supposed to be this like Plucky happy excited like voice a or not voice agent but voice person so the the nice thing about these tools is that they're always going to be on you know like we've all dealt with a customer service person who's not having a good day and then you're not having a good day and then it becomes what it is but at least with this like like arim was saying they're they're always going to be same mood same Vibe all the time so it's a benefit I think yeah yeah and um so how how would you
use the J from AI just right that's the question not just from a ag like um voice AI agents in general like what kind of cases are there for voice agents um you know the most common use cases are things like you know people calling to ask about like you know uh your business hours like you know when you open uh maybe you know maybe they want to make an appointment uh with your business right um maybe you know they want to register for an event uh or they just have like these question like they can have like hundreds of different questions and they want ask that question quick question right and then if they you know uh call you and no one picks up they can ask that question maybe you know they will go to a competitor they will not come to your
business um so it's just like um it's important to you know have that uh have something um that can actually take over from you right you don't have to you know always use like these voice agents maybe you you you just want to use it as a backup like when you're offline when you're not answering the phones maybe the voice agents uh should pick it up um but there you know I think there are like two ways um that are most like you know uh incoming calls and out outcome calls um and yes there are like sales AI voice agents that actually are specialized in like outgoing calls and uh we are not really you know research about those those ones um so and um but we we we focus more on these like you know voice agents that are that can be helpful for
the incoming c um yeah and to yeah for sure I mean look into them yeah yeah that there's there's a key difference between uh those two and I I I think it's important to point out that pretty much for this episode we're just going to talk about inbound um there there are really cool opportunities out there without bound I'm sure in the future we'll we'll cover some of that stuff but this is just mainly for uh the support side of things more than anything yeah I mean um maybe I I just start with the J from AI agents um let's go with J from AI agents J from Agents just came out um yesterday and and you know we are about um like customer service because you know jet agents can do many things like you know it can fill out forms it can do
uh many things but uh what we found during the beta period was like most people were actually using it for um getting answer getting questions answered for their customer um and um because of that like we kind of pivoted to being a really good customer service AI agent and then we focus our energies there and one of the ways that we can actually be um a great uh customer service AI agent is um is be everywhere right uh wherever your customer is sure it should be everywhere and just from a like we we right out of the gate like we we we came out with these uh a different agent types like you can connect to them over phone um you can put a chatbot on your website so your customers can actually use a chatbot um you can have a chat uh WhatsApp uh
business um you know line where people can write and uh get their answers um or you can put a voice agent on your website um you know Facebook Messenger the messenger is also like you know you know we are supporting it and um you can also create a mobile app and give it to your uh customers and then they can just you know um talk to the you know your support line using that app and um the stand is like you can just share a link you know you can put the link somewhere you can put a c QR code or you can email someone the link and the C is um you know if you have like this you know you could use a kosk hardware or you could use an iPad and put it on one of those you know kyosk uh like
tools um um and then you know if if people need to like you know register or if they if they need to like sign in um like they can just quickly do it and you can put like this voice agent on your qos as well so that's also a great option because that's much quicker than just you know trying to type on on on the keyboard uh keyboard um but today we are we are talking about the voice agents so I'm going to actually you know I created one um if you remember our last uh chatbot episode uh we talked about you know we we had this demo of like this U we had this web page uh where we had I'll share the screen um where we had this burger joint website I created this using web flow uh just as an example and
then we compared all these chatbots um if you haven't watched that episode it's it's a great episode like uh we had we we reviewed like eight different chatbots uh for websites and um you know uh to to see how they function so um today I wanted to show you like they showcase you the um voice agent I mean you can also like buy a phone number and um call it over the phone but it's the same thing thing so it's just uh easier to uh show it this way so we could just start with the demo right here um just you know someone clicking on here and then start talking to your AI agent hello your friendly AI agent how can I help you today hey Quinton uh I want to know about this spicy B Burger what's the price hold on it is taking
time I will respond to you soon the spicy Burger is priced at $920 however please note that it is currently out of stock thank you qu oh no okay we had the same problem last week as last time they just don't want to they just don't want to sell us the burger I guess I I don't know okay yeah every time I do a demo there's there's some there's going to be some problem uh but I'm going to show the agent Builder a little bit here um so this is the agent Builder where you can actually you know decide like which CH like customize um your agent on different channels like if you want to have like a chatbot you can customize this chatbot here like this or like the design of the chatbot with the uh with the voice agent um you can you
know customize many things like the voice actually like you know if you J form AI agents are powerful tools that handle tasks like answering questions helping with forms and organizing data select that they work on their own saving time and um and the phone like you can you know buy the phone number right here and um connect connected to that phone number and um so yeah and then you can train your agent um in the train tab uh you can you know Define this Persona you know add knowledge base about your agent like here I actually entered this URL of the page and you can Define like conditions I was actually trying to like you know not make it not say out of stock but it was very truthful and you know I couldn't make it not say it's out of stock uh so you
could add forms and then it can actually uh like just fill out those forms over voice and uh you can train your agent uh by talking to it you know uh on this SC screen um and on the publish screen it's actually how I actually uh got that I actually I basically copied the uh embed the chatbot code here I copied it from here and I was able to up and running very quickly like it took me like you know uh 10 seconds to uh make it work so that was great and um I guess we need to you know um still have some issues with with the speed uh we to improve them it's actually you know we were actually pretty good but then sometimes yeah sometimes you know some agents have some problems with with the training data or something and then we
keep improving them so it just uh this product is new so uh we'll keep improving them so I'm going to exactly go to the next one and um this product is called uh voice flow um voice FL is a is a similar product um it says like the homepage build AI customer support agents with complete control avoid AI blackboxes deploy and scale tail tailored AI agents to automate your customer interactions and it actually has you know this flow like their name is voice flow they also kind of help you this uh design the flow of your conversations uh we also kind of considered this but we decide that like it's more natural when you're talking to the a the AI agents that it's you know if the user wants to do something let them do something uh don't like too much push towards them but
you could use like actions to kind of uh if you need to get them to do something you can still do that uh with a J from Agents um so yeah uh this is the uh product I also embedded the product on the same page um hopefully this time it will work um I actually really like this interface because um you know it just say start a call this actually you know gives you the you know like gives you the information that oh there's a voice voice agent available right there I can just click on that button and talk to talk to it it actually doesn't say you know AI so it's kind of it might confuse people we are actually much more careful about like making sure that people understand that they are actually talking to AI um yeah sure hi there this is
customer support how can I help you hi can you help me with the pricing of spicy Burger yeah uh looks like today you know we are we are having some difficulties uh but I actually tested it uh earlier mhm and it was actually working pretty well uh and it answered my questions so maybe you know issue is happening right now and I'm going to share the internals like this is the you know dashboard um right agents I created my first agent here and uh you can also buy phone numbers uh with voice flow and um there templates um let's see if I click on this templates I got this page um commun build template um about like you know different um different types of uh voice agents I guess yeah they even have as you can see their SMS uh SMS support which I know
isn't in isn't voice related but um is a pretty is a pretty cool option from from yeah SMS and voice a real estate agent so this is a template I guess you can get this let's let's try to get it maybe this will work better for us red f Ali H interesting okay I will try to test my data see if I can test my agent here welcome to redin I'm here to help you find your perfect home I'll be asking you a few questions about your preferences to tailor our property recommendations your responses will help us narrow down the best options for you first up am I able to get your name uh my name is Isaac my name is Isaac thank you all right it's letting us know it's taking a sec but with these guys by the way they're they're going to
continue to prove on speed this is this is something that I think um remember we didn't even have the concept of this being possible like uh a couple months ago so we got to take the take the positives out of this always and I think um some of the other cool things about these products is that you have to consider the benefits in the Long Haul of setting these things up for your company obviously you know you can Implement them at any choice at any point that you want but as these companies continue to create these real-time agents create these options they're going to learn from it they're going to make them better and every single thing is going to uh just become quicker and quicker like a lot of these products uh right now that are coming out of the box are are are
great starting points like for example with jaw form you have the ability to not only use the voice agent but you also can call which is uh pretty unique um did you want to maybe pull up that as an example on the ja form website just to kind of show what it is and and the purchase of a phone number and then from there we can and top into some of the other ones that are a little bit more Technical and actually require coders and developers to set up yeah I think I think we made a great Point um so like these products are still still you know getting ready you know um uh they may be slower they may be you know having problems but um it it's these things are going to be fixed over time and this just reminds like the when
the internet came out like in the 1990s um uh just like in those early days like you know web pages were extremely slow like I remember the first time right uh at the time Google didn't exist like when I actually like when I went to yaho Yahoo and I would click on a link I would wait for like 5 Seconds 10 seconds for a page to open and then I would actually browse the internet that way I you know we didn't even have like the search bar but just you would browse the whole internet by just going to Yahoo and just uh clicking on the links and waiting 10 seconds for each link to open up so it's like that in the beginning the technology is always like that it's slow it's broken uh it feels like a toy it it doesn't feel real it
doesn't feel ready but over time that thing that looks like you know broken not ready becomes uh a great uh great product and now and that replaces everything so it's just you know um I think they are agents that way um there are still some problems like we you know we are constantly fixing our team is like you know working until uh they were still emailing me like 2: a.m. last night like just you know because so many people were testing the product they were like finding all these new bugs and fixing them um um so it's it's still you know but it's over time it's going to get better and better uh so and and as a business right it's important for you to you know start using these products start testing things out and and you might find out that you know um
and over time they're going to improve much uh so much more yeah well even more so than just um the internet as an example I mean do you recall trashy PT 3.5 or not 3.5 3.0 prior to 3.5 coming out it was in October or whatever that was of 22 or 23 and that was so many hallucinations like oh it was awful you can get anything yeah right now I don't even remember the last time I get the hallucinations from chpt it's just you know pretty good yeah it's pretty good and and that's that's something to point out right like so that was like two years ago and now we're at the point where it went from it took a minute to produce a paragraph and the paragraph could be completely hallucinated to now just open up chat GPT for yourself guys on the free
version and try chat GPT 40 and you're going to basically get you know like five paragraphs if you have a request on writing a a script or something and it'll do it just like that so it's quickly going to become that good we but these are the building blocks that you have to start with in software in order to get where you want it to go so exactly so um while I was researching all these products what I discovered was like most of the products were actually made for like the for the end user uh and like most of the products were actually made for like Developers for engineers and and um and like if you want to use those products like you have to hire an agency or a developer and then that person can actually build a custom solution for you but I
still wanted to show like show you the top ones um so let me continue to uh share my screen so next one is play Ai and um this one's actually pretty quick but uh this one is a little bit harder because it's made for like developers yeah and um and um you know it has options like CL yourself customer support person assistance hi this is Nia from ABC Corp Customer Support I'm here to help you with any questions or concerns you may have how can I assist you today what kind of products do you have we offer a variety of products tailored to different needs can you tell me a bit more about what you're looking for um yeah I'm Pro I'm looking for the best products sounds like you're interested in our top rated products what specific category are you looking into like Electronics
or HomeGoods this is pretty good say HomeGoods HomeGoods this voice is incredible by the way right did you I felt like the voice was incredible oh I accidentally click on this one I I I thought that I was going to like mute the microphone but it actually switched to the a agent because of that um yeah I mean again the same problem here it was also slow I guess I don't know why uh to maybe maybe maybe there's a problem with um you know the you know open AI or something like maybe open is actually SLO and that's actually well affecting the whole like all the three product we tried were actually very slow so maybe something like that yeah that could be it like if the stability is like required upon on the the platform's output and then it has to take the output

we want that's what we been we've been pining for so to say in the last couple minutes here like it was quick it was effective it was Snappy it was it was fun I felt like you were really talking to a person the delay was pretty minimal uh overall like what what do you think about that I I thought that was a pretty exceptional product it was great and I trained it uh with the URL of the page I text here but I also like uh you know copied the URL here of the page I created and it was able to like answer my questions and uh it was impressively fast uh it was very very fast so great job play Ai and oh yeah I I liked it and the only thing is I wasn't able to make it work on the web page
uh for some reason you know you're able to put uh on the web page preview the embed right uh save agent uh but I wasn't able to get it done but um I'm sure uh maybe it wasn't my my mistake uh so but yeah this is this is a great option as well play AI yeah good I mean a little bit of setup but uh we're we're kind of looking at that as I guess from your perspective what are some of the the key ways you think in the conversation it was the best cuz to me I felt like what was really funny about the first one was that it first of all wouldn't let you not be specific about what kind of products but what was really incredible was at some point ended up realizing you're not going to change your response unless you
get get more from unless you got more from them so for example when you were saying I want to know about your best products and they're like okay but what what kind and then you say I want to know about your best products they go uh and it almost responded like a person saying okay but like you talking about like retail you're talking about what do you what do you mean specifically and I thought that was very human so this I think is where a lot of the improvements are going to come over time sure speed we we know that but the human factor is understanding that people and their responses are going to mean certain things based off of like the pattern so maybe she's just picking up on the pattern but what I what I think would be really cool is If eventually
they understand inflection and they understand tone right like for example if if a person's really mad on the phone with them you know and customer support humans get that one humans know what's going on we actually got that um so uh we were using our own voice AI agent on on a phone number like we provided this phone support line to Jud users and and one of our customers and we review all those like conversations with AI uh we're getting angry because like um he was able to get his answers but after that he was getting angry and he was saying like seeing things like I know that you are not AI you are a real human being right right and he was he started thinking that we are actually messing with him and he started getting angry at our agent but the our agent
wasn't like wasn't picking up on the uh on the sentiments so uh the just the answer was very very similar on the same tone but he was actually getting angrier and angrier uh over time because he thought that they were messing with him yeah that's kind of funny actually yeah but in the future that's not going to be the case I I have a feeling that the next step is going to be understanding sentiment yeah so that you know you don't have to deal with um the concerns there which are clearly you know we don't want to frustrate customers at all so we want to make sure that that's uh that's sorted out so that's pretty cool um I think in general those are some of the kind of improvements that uh we want to see out of it though um speed that but not
that example you just gave us I think is a really cool Showcase of what an AI agent that's talking uh can do well um I I for one if I'm if I'm talking to an agent those are those are the kind of things that I'd need any sort of guidance for the people who are uh a literate in what they want or in literate in the space and I don't mean that in any sort of negative way I just mean like s some context people are they they think they know what they want but they actually don't right so that's what the support person is supposed to do you're supposed to guide them along and that that was really impressive to me so Kudos Kudos yeah cool yeah so the next one I'm going to share is called Wy I don't know if it's called
VY it's called V AIA but it's voice API like if you read it that way it's a voice API oh that's funny war API V API Pi um so it's a great name by the way it's a great like it's fun it feels like a real you know person name but it also has a meaning so I love those kind of names um so you know it's made for engineers it's made for developers so you will not be able to just use this right away out of uh you know the Box uh you will have to hire someone if you're not technical I guess or you could use products like you know make or zapier and integrate with it and U you know use no code products to create your solution and um sure yeah I'm looking for an example it says flexible for engineers

handle millions of phone calls simultaneously day or night and in any language or voice I can be used for any use case in any industry across sales operations and of course customer support I think that's an important point one of the greatest things about um AI voice agents is you can talk to like let's say you have an event suddenly like hundreds of PE people are actually calling you about something right they can all you know um get an answer right away at the same time like literally hundreds of people can actually talk to your AI uh at the same time you cannot do that with human uh you know human uh phones like you know you they're going to wait for hours to get in the line to be able to talk to someone and if something urgent is happening something changed and that's
why we have during the beta period like we have seen lots of people um actually uh using the uh using our a agents for for events uh because events actually like they have all these like Cycles you know you suddenly get hundreds of calls uh in a you know in an hour or something and then or like you know on your website people are asking similar questions um so yeah that's that's great um that you know scalable no exactly I I think that's something that a lot of a lot of people oh you're okay no worries um it's it's okay I think I think a lot of people don't realize like you have these companies right and you're saying okay well I'm going to pay x amount for an AI agent well not really you're paying x amount for the AI agent relative to the
amount of inbound that you receive you know it's not the same thing it's it's it's much different like the the the thing will scale sure there might be minor cost increase but unlike uh like an employee you have a like linear cost adjustment whereas with uh something like this you have a fixed cost I'm sure and then there might be minor like increases right you have like this fixed cost and minor increases whereas as a business owner you know like if you just hire a bunch of employees it's the same cost same cost same cost same same cost this is different it's like upfront certain amount and then marginal increase maybe if there's like usage fees and stuff yeah great Point yeah continue a little bit about what actually makes you special the handle conversations in an intelligent and hallucination proof way um I do

you stress I'm kidding I'm not stressed thanks so that I like they added this is the first time I'd ever thought that a or consider the concept of adding background noise that's funny man that's a good idea they got sound effects with the phone pickup you got the wooa music on the the Z music on style PHS like you know picking up yeah like it was a landline it was a land but honestly if it's a pizza place it's going to be landline so that was that was kind of realistic so I I appreciated that that was hilarious dude oh I love that that made my day the dog in the background was a great touch now I don't know what kind of pizza places you go to um but I they generally don't got PE uh dogs running around but besides that uh yeah
that was that was awesome so uh I just want to call out that there's products like that that exist and I don't think either of us had even considered the concept of background noise um but that that really made me feel like I was on the phone with a guy that was trying to sell me as ah so I actually seen that before uh and the example I saw before that was actually the uh noise of a like a call center right uh I you know uh you're actually talking to AI but there's actually call center noise in the background other people are saying hello to other people like sure actually you know makes you feel you know it for some reason it actually feels good to have that background Voice without that background voice feels strange like you know what's happening yeah cuz if
you're calling a call center like they're not going to be alone yeah and I'm always expecting like whenever I got called Call Center like I'm expecting that so of course yeah wow that was awesome okay I think a good point that's a good that's a good end that's a good end for the episode I think uh I think I think we we can close it on on that one I got to kick out of that so overall thoughts what are you thinking you thinking AI agents I I think there there was clear opt there were clear examples of really good AI agents yeah that can use voice there are clear indications that they are different and overall I think it's going to take some time yeah to be perfect but as we called out chat gbt 3.0 was kind of bad looking at it looking
back on it and our expectations are a little bit High because you know now with like 03 you get like an extremely rational breakdown of like all of the different schools of philosophy within like 3 seconds so you know it's just it's it's it's where our expectations are at versus the reality I think if we would have been introduced to this three years ago we'd all be freaking out I think like we just exper the future like we just went to the Future like traveled to the Future and experien what it will look like when you were having that call with the AI agent and just conversing just like you you would converse with uh real you know pizza shop uh even better even probably better and that's the feature and we just today we just showed you the feature and um you know we
